As an active executive and editorial member of the TIA/EIA
222 Code Committee (the Standard used for
Telecommunication Tower Design in the United States), a
member of the International Association of Spatial
Structures (IASS – Working Group 4), and other technical
associations such as ASCE and AISC, Mark Malouf, the
firm principal, is involved in code developments and
stays continually abreast of new design trends.
Malouf is a national expert witness providing expert
opinion on new telecommunication tower design and
construction and in situations of conflict, including
technical support to zoning boards re-drafting their
zoning ordinances.
He is sought by insurance companies, law firms and
network owners for his practical approach, unique
presentation of technical information and communication
skills in combining the business, legal and engineering
aspects of a project. He has been involved in forensic
studies of catastrophic tower failures of several major
broadcasting structures, including investigation of
tower failures after hurricanes Andrew and Hugo.
He has published several technical papers on this
subject and made several presentations to national and
international technical conferences, including the
National Association of Broadcaster (NAB), the
International Association of Spatial Structures (IASS),
the ASCE Structural Congress and the National
Association of Tower Erectors (NATE).
